GB Corp
GB Corp. is a micro-management idle game for the Nintendo Game Boy with a unique feature: it is the first game where the Game Boy you use to play has an impact on the game.
The game support 6 consoles models (GB DMG, GB Pocket, GB Color, GB Advance, Super GB & Super GB2). It also supports to link two different consoles types through a link cable to have two GB types working at the same time on screen!
You are the manager of the GB Corp. company, and your goal is to make the most money from your Game Boy collection. Hire (or fire !) new Game Boys, train them but be aware that only the virtual Game Boy of the same type than the physical Game Boy you are using are working, until their batteries are down.
So, to put your Game Boy Color employees to work, you need to play the game on an actual Game Boy Color. If you want to make your Game Boy Pocket employees active instead, you'll have to unplug the cartridge and put it into a Game Boy Pocket from your collection.
Once the batteries of the employees are over, you can recharge them with virtual money, or just switch to another console (it will recharge batteries of every other models for free).
So, even if you can play the game on a single type of console and enjoy it, the "console change" is a real gameplay mechanic and not a simple gimmick. When you only have a handful of employees, changing batteries isn't a burden. But when you employ dozens of them, it costs loads of money.
The game detects 6 types of consoles :
- Original Game Boy "Fat" DMG
- Game Boy Pocket
- Game Boy Color
- Game Boy Advance
- Super Game Boy on a SNES system
- Super Game Boy 2 on a SNES system
And even better, you can link two consoles (using two games cartridges) to earn money faster. The consoles do not need to be of the same type, it is more efficient to mix consoles models.
